Display inline?

[edit]

@Rlink2: Hi there! I stumbled across an instance of this template today when editing the source code for End of the Line (Traveling Wilburys song), and it was easy to find a new YouTube link to fix the reference. Should this display an inline template (similar to {{dead link}}) to encourage editors to make these fixes? Also, should the template have the proper capitalization of "YouTube"? Thanks! @GoingBatty: I am more than happy to see that this template has served good. It's why I made it in the first place.
Should this display an inline template? it probably should. However, doing that is a bit out of my "balliwack". You are a more experieced editor, maybe you could add it. If not, I can look into it myself.
Also, should the template have the proper capitalization of "YouTube"?. Well, I don't know how to change the name of a template. If the change is a simple one, then I don't object to the template using the proper capitalization. Rlink2 (talk) 22:41, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rlink2: Changing the name of the template was an easy move, just like moving an article. I created Template:Dead YouTube links/sandbox by copying Template:Dead link. Should we test it? GoingBatty (talk) 03:08, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GoingBatty: Yes. Rlink2 (talk) 18:15, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rlink2: Does Template:Dead YouTube links/testcases look right? GoingBatty (talk) 00:53, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Rlink2 (talk) 15:07, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rlink2 and Jonesey95: I copied the sandbox contents to the template, and created:

I also added the template to WP:AWB/DT, so a bot will date all the templates. Feel free to manually date the older instances templates with the month you placed them if you don't want them dated February 2022. GoingBatty (talk) 18:39, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are 3,001 pages in Category:All articles with dead YouTube links. Thanks to AnomieBOT, there are now also 3,001 pages in Category:Articles with dead YouTube links from February 2022. GoingBatty (talk) 21:55, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
